Laziness

A part of the Presidents speech that stands out in my mind is when he said, "I need your help". Also when he stated that we may not be able to accomplish all of our goals in one month or in one term for that matter. Also, when he spoke to the people who did not vote for him. He told them, "I hear you and I am YOUR president too".
Today in class. A lot of the kids were rambling on and on about non sense related to the election. This is the first election a lot of them have been able to vote in. Many of them said that they did not bother voting because it did not matter. Shame on them. Shame on their parents for not teaching them the importance of exercising their constitutional right to vote. Shame on them for not teaching these kids about our forefathers who have struggled in order to make this dream a reality. Boy oh boy. If I had a child who refused to vote. We'd have one hell of a family meeting.

I've seen interviews of citizens. One was asked, "Why did you vote for Obama". She said, "Because he's about change and I believe that he can change every thing, I believe he's going to stop the building of technology and look at the issues that really matter".
HUH??? I'm not very sure what this girl was speaking of. But.......It's ignorance like this that will make people say, "You see, we shouldn't have voted for him, what has he done to help us".
Do people want him to hand them a paycheck for doing not a stitch of work? Do people want him to give them FREE health care because they CHOOSE not to work?
If you want to prosper in this life. Here is the bottom line
Get off of your lazy ass and educate yourself. If you cannot afford college right now? Then go to the FREE PUBLIC library and exercise your mind. Learn, learn, learn. Stop blaming the government for your lack of success. There are people who are blind that fight the NYC subways each day and cross the busy streets with canes. JUST TO GO TO WORK. There are people in Wheelchairs, struggling to get down to the train platforms. JUST TO GO TO WORK.
So I really do not want to hear the words, "I CAN'T. Not from an able bodied human being. I'm sorry. I refuse to accept I CAN'T as an answer. Not from an adult and not from the children in my life. I CAN'T is a lazy excuse to not TRY.
O.k. I'm done. Just had to get that out
