So gratefull

Wow. I received an overwhelming amount of donations from my friends. Now we have so many gift cards that we are able to double up the amount in each basket and have some to pass out in some of the girls churches. Some departments within the hospital are running food drives to help support the local churches, soup kitchens and food pantry's. But I like what I've gotten involved with because it allows people the comfort and dignity of staying within their own homes to celebrate with their families and loved ones. In lieu of standing on line with a tray to get a ration of food. It's so sad how many people out there are in need for life's basic necessities. Food, shelter and water. I feel so blessed to have a circle of friends who remember what it was like to not have enough food to eat. Struggles always make us stronger. It's just a matter of recognizing the blessing in each struggle. Tonight I can sleep in peace knowing that people do care. Sometimes the world seems so cynical and nasty. But every once in awhile, the world surprises us and proves our cynical thoughts wrong.
